Who we are

What we collect

• When you ask to book on this website: your name, phone number, email, the dates, the number of guests, the room, and your arrival time and note if you give them.
• When you stay with us: your name, phone number, email, nationality and identity document (type and number), which the law requires hotels to record, and what you order and pay during your stay.
• When you message or call us: what you send us on WhatsApp, by phone or by email.
• When you visit this website: which pages you view, the kind of device and browser, your approximate location (city or country) and which buttons you tap, counted with Google Analytics.

Why we use it

• To answer your request, confirm your room and look after your stay — the reason you gave us the details.
• To keep the records Rwandan law requires of a hotel and of a business (guest registration, tax and accounting).
• To keep our guests, staff and property safe, and to prevent fraud.
• To understand, in total, how the website is used so we can improve it. We do not use Analytics for advertising and do not build a profile of you.

Who helps us handle it

We never sell your data. A few trusted providers process it on our behalf, under their own security obligations. Some of them store data outside Rwanda:

• Supabase — our booking and reception database (servers in the European Union).
• Vercel — hosts this website.
• Google — Google Analytics (website visits) and Google Maps.
• Meta — WhatsApp, when you choose to contact us or send a booking request there.

How long we keep it

Guest and payment records are kept for as long as Rwandan hotel, tax and accounting rules require. A booking request that does not become a stay is deleted on request. Website visit statistics are kept for 14 months.

How we protect it

Everything travels over encrypted connections. Each member of staff sees only what their role needs, every change is recorded with who made it, and the records are backed up daily.

Your rights

Under Law No. 058/2021 you may ask to see the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to or restrict how we use it, receive a copy of it, and withdraw consent you have given. Write to kigaligoldenstay@gmail.com; we answer within 30 days. We may need to keep some records the law requires even after a request to delete.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the National Cyber Security Authority (NCSA) of Rwanda.

Cookies

The website uses Google Analytics cookies to count visits, and remembers your language choice. You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time; the website works without them.

Changes

If what we do with your data changes, this page changes first. The date below shows the latest version.
